Welcome to this week’s broadcast of Jacquie Straight Up, the place to be if you want to live a kick-ass life of wealth and freedom. Today’s message is a really important one. And that is, that done is better than perfect. I don’t know why I felt compelled to share that with you today but I had a really strong urge that that’s the message that I needed to put out there.

Done is better than perfect.

So whatever it is that you’re waiting to perfect, please stop waiting. Whether you are waiting to make that book perfect before you release it,  waiting  for the perfect moment to use the good china, or if you’re waiting for the perfect moment to speak to someone about something or to ask for help. Whatever it is. I want you to know that done is better than perfect.

Here’s the amazing thing about perfection, it’s an excuse, it really is. People like to say that they’re a perfectionist and they like to wear that as a badge of honor. And it’s not, it’s an excuse! So drop the perfection thing, drop it right now because it’s holding you back. I’ve also a heard a very interesting take on perfection, and that is that it’s part of a poverty mentality, because what happens is, when we’re waiting to be perfect, we really don’t believe that we’re good right now. We don’t believe we’re enough. And when we don’t believe we’re enough, we really don’t get anything done and we never get to live our dreams. So please drop that, you are enough right now. Do not wait for perfection in any area of your life. It’s holding you back.

That’s my message today you guys and if you’ve liked the video please click the like button. Share it with others, it’s a really important thing to get out there. And I’d love to hear from you so leave me a comment below the video and let me know what it is that you’ve been waiting to do up until now waiting for perfection, that you’re just going to drop and go for it! Done is better than perfect. I’d love to hear from you. So that’s it, I look forward to seeing you on the next episode of Jacquie Straight Up- Bye!

Thanks Jacquie I really needed this today. This month actually! I’ve been trying to gear up for a performance next month and every time I’ve tried incorporate something new into my set, I freak out because I convince myself that I won’t be able to perfect it in time. That thought alone is not allowing me to even try to make it work out because of fear. I am going to take your advice and just do it.

Jacquie this is so true! And even in the silliest of situations. I’ve been skeptical about getting back into the dating scene because I don’t feel like my body meets my own personal expectations of “perfection”. But if I keep thinking like that, I’m going to be stuck at home watching Netflix and eating too much ice cream! It’s definitely time to change my thought process. Thanks for the push Jacquie!

Amazing isn’t it Polly that even the most seemingly ‘perfect’ people often times still feel like they’re not good enough. It really is time to stop striving for ‘perfection’ and be unapologetically you in ALL your gorgeous glory! XO

Hi Jacquie. I always like your weekly video messages but particularly loved this one! As you know, I’m a musician and musicians are often perfectionists when it comes to performing in public. Something that helped me with this a couple of years ago was when I heard something very similar to what you said today: I heard the say, “good enough is the new perfect”, so I printed off those words and sometimes put them in front of me when I’m performing.

I also particularly liked what you said about the way perfectionism is a excuse and the other way it holds back those (like me until now) who are being held back by this erroneous way of thinking. So, I’m not going to read through this message before I hot send because I’m sure it’s good enough!

Hi Jacquie! Holy smokes, perfectionism IS an excuse and it does hold us back! We should embrace our “flaws” as not only do they give us character, but we learn from them as well! Robert, I like your saying, “good enough is the new perfect!” It’s on a post-it note by my desk here at work! I may not be perfect, but I know now that I can achieve more if I don’t perfect them! I thank you both for your words and inspiration!
