13 Mar Happy vs. Satisfied
This is what I woke up to this morning: the pink beginnings of a beautiful sunrise, the joyful sound of song birds, palm trees and the scent of citrus blossoms in the soft, dry air. In this moment, I am happy beyond measure – I love my life. But do I want more? You bet I do!
How are you doing with your New Year Resolutions? It is so important to have goals, dreams and aspirations and it is equally as important to recognize the fabulous in the now. Never be satisfied with your life and what you have but be happy with your life and what you have. If I was satisfied, I would lack the motivation to set goals, to aim higher and above all, to grow.
Thomas Edison said, “Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure.” Pretty harsh words I think but you get the point. I want to add to it and say, “And show me a thoroughly unhappy man and I will show you a failure!” Happiness is not something that you can strive for – it is in the here and now – it is a decision and a state of being.
Like everything in life, it is a fine balance – be happy but never be satisfied!
What do you have in your life right now, at this moment, that makes you feel happy?
I send you love and joy,
