27 Apr How to Ask for Guidance
In today’s Jacquie Straight Up, I am coming to your raw and real, from my hiking trail with no makeup on and windswept.
In this episode, I wanted to share the process that I go through when I am coming up with subjects to discuss for Jacquie Straight Up. Occasionally, I have something preconceived that has been on my mind for a while, I know what I want to share with you and I know that I have to get out. But usually, finding a subject requires asking for guidance.
I ask for guidance, please guide me to what I should say today, what is inspired, what my audience needs to hear today, and then I wait for the answer.
Today I was stressing out about it, I was intellectualizing it, trying to come up with something great to say, and of course it wasn’t happening. Then it dawned on me, at the top of the mountain, I hadn’t asked for guidance, and that is the exact thing I ought to speak about today.
So whatever it is that you are stressing about, or whatever it is that you are trying to find the answer to, whether you are trying to find inspiration to start a book, your deciding to quit your job to take up another offer you have been given, leave a relationship, or you are deciding whether to hire a coach, whatever the question may be, just ask for guidance from the great divine spirit in all of us.
It’s as simple as asking “What should I do? I need guidance on this today” and you will be amazed. Just sit back and relax and wait. You no long have to intellectualize it; you no longer have to stress about it and pay no more attention to it, it will come to you. For me when I am hiking I am out there looking at the birds and the beautiful scenery and all of a sudden I will be hit by “that is what I need to talk about today,” that is how it happens.
So whatever it is that you are stressing about today, please let it go, please ask for guidance and wait for the answers they will come.

In my early years, I spent tons of unnecessary time and energy worrying and stressing to find answers until I drove myself mad. Sometimes hyper-focusing on a problem just creates more problems and when we relax it clears up our minds to find the answer.

Posted at 13:07h, 27 AprilThis is exactly what I needed to hear this week. I am debating a change in scenery and in lifestyle and I cant tell if its the right move or if I am just nervous about it. I am going to ask the universe for guidance, hopefully I will get the answer I am looking for. Wish me luck.

I regularly receive your news letter but today’s raised my consciousness on the issue of asking for guidance.
I’ve been trying to the way things are done in my profession as a shoe manufacturer in Nigeria, where I happen to be thesecretary-general and most informed of my colleagues. In trying to make this change, it’s made me to establish factory where my members would be shareholders, but I’m grossly misunderstood which has made them not to run at my pace. In asking for guidance and getting an answer, I think I’m confused, not knowing what to do. Do you think I should continue? I need to raise funds to continue from my bankers but it’s taking time. I need an answer.

Posted at 06:28h, 28 AprilHi Ken – Thanks for being a member of the JS community! Since I do not know all the details of your situation, its not possible to give you specific advice. In general though, when we have big questions for God/The Divine, the process is to ask and then let go. This is where faith is required – you have to relax and believe that the answer will come and that the timing will be perfect. Sometimes the answer is no and you have to take a different direction. Trust you intuition!
