19 Mar Where there’s a will…
I must admit, I’m a total hedonist. An absolute lover — and seeker — of pleasure.
Simply put, I despise deprivation.
So it may come as a surprise to learn that this week’s Jacquie Straight Up is all about the impact of WILLPOWER.
Yup. Good old-fashioned grit, determination, and self control.
Yes, I know. Not exactly fun and games. But wait, before you stop reading, hear me out…I’m about to get to the really good stuff.
Ever since I listened to a fascinating webinar on the impact of willpower by Robin Sharma, I’ve been researching it quite a bit. And here’s what I’ve learned: willpower is THE key to success and a happy life.
THE key. Wow. (Believe me, this revelation can change your life for the better.)
And you know what else I discovered? Willpower is more important to achieving economic and academic success than your IQ. How fascinating, and encouraging!
I love the fact that willpower trumps IQ. Why? Because it means we can control our destiny.
We have the ability to increase our willpower, which means we have the ability to create our future. Cool. (For my tips on how to increase your willpower, and exercise that muscle, watch today’s Jacquie Straight Up, above.)
I also share five more of my key findings about willpower in today’s episode, but here are three for right now:
- We have a finite amount of willpower each day. Always do the tough stuff first!
- Lack of sleep will deplete willpower.
- Boost your willpower with meditation, and a shot of glucose!
So my friend, I trust I was able to impress upon you the importance of willpower. By brushing it aside, you won’t be able to achieve your own version of success. (This is very tough to admit, for a hedonist like me…)
I’d be delighted to hear what you have to say about willpower, so please comment in the section below. I always enjoy feedback! And if this video has served you today, please hit the “like” button and share it with your friends.
See you next week!
Sending love and strength,
Jacquie
