03 May The Path to Purpose!

I get a lot of questions from viewers about Purpose. When it’s not evident in your life, it can be so frustrating. I totally get it because I was one of those people who dabbled in a lot of different things confused and envious of those who seemed to have a singular purpose that they followed with passion.
I bet most of you don’t know this but I’m a farmer by trade – My degree is in Agriculture and beyond that I’ve gone from selling cars and cosmetics to learning to fly airplanes and from opening eye surgery clinics all over North America to trying my hand at being a full time wife. I’ve studied with some of the greatest personal development teachers in the world, written books and given speeches. And finally I figured it out. Now I get to do what I love every day, make a difference in the lives of women and make a great living at it.
Looking back on my scattered yet necessary journey, I can see how it got me here and share the answers with you. It’s from taking the opportunities that life presents you even when you are scared, it’s from following your heart and your gut even when all those around you are telling you you’re crazy, It’s from making endless so-called mistakes and it’s from being curious and following that curiosity.
I love what Eat Pray Love author Liz Gilbert said about this and I quote:
“If you can let go of passion and follow your curiosity, your curiosity might just lead you to your passion.”
So follow your curiosity! Try things for the first time. Push the envelope. Your failures are stepping -stones to your success. You are exactly where you need to be right now. But to get to where you WANT to be, you must keep moving forward every day, learn, grow, make mistakes and follow those flashes of brilliance that come to you in moments of inspiration, no matter how fleeting. If you do that, you will find fulfillment in the journey and the journey will lead you to your purpose. And yes you can have multiple purposes throughout your life and it doesn’t have to be served up with fireworks and fanfare. But have the guts to follow all the little opportunities that life shows you. There’s purpose in that.

Posted at 09:33h, 04 MayThis is so me!!! I feel like my journey is just starting but I am not sure what is the right path to take. I have too many passions and too many ideas/things I love and want to do. Obviously I have a hard time choosing what to focus on and it’s holding me back. I want to follow my curiosity and push the envelope but i’m just not sure what envelope to push.

Posted at 09:40h, 04 MaySometimes in this day and age, it is so easy to get overwhelmed by “not being far enough.” I have always dwelled on my mistakes with an intense feeling that I am behind in life and in my goals. This video helped me realize that my mistakes are there to help move me forward, not back. I am where I need to be! And as long as I keep striving to move forward on my journey, I will get to my purpose one day. Thank you for reminding me of that.

Posted at 09:42h, 05 MayYes Janice – You got it! Our mistakes are our “guides” – they get us closer to what we want. The more “mistakes” we make, the closer we get to our purpose. XO

Posted at 18:23h, 06 MayI look forward to each week session. This week just reminded me of the following:
1. Life is not perfect
2. Let things go
3. Love yourself first
4. Never give up
5. Things happen for a reason
6. Follow your gut
7. Stay active
This is what I live by these days. It’s not easy and everyday is a challenge but these 7 things keep me going. Thanks for sharing every week
