30 Sep Could You Be Afraid of Success?

In today’s Jacquie Straight Up, we are taking on Resistance once again – You know that dreaded thing that stops us from doing what we know we need to do to get to where we want to be? It’s such a weird thing but it affects all of us from time to time and it’s because of FEAR!

But here’s the bombshell: It’s likely not from a fear that you have considered before…It is most often from the Fear of Success!

In fact, author Steven Pressfield refers to the fear of success as the mother load of all fears and here’s why: It is because success will bring about massive change in our lives and change is often extremely difficult or at the very least, uncomfortable, so we hide our bright lights in order to remain in our comfort zone.

We fear accessing the powers that deep down we know we possess. We fear discovering our amazing talents, guts, gifts and perseverance because we fear the massive change that such discoveries will bring so we chose to stick with the status quo – with what is familiar.

As Marianne Williamson wrote in A Return to Love, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us..”

Become aware of the Fear of Success! Awareness is always the first step to change. And remember that success is not only measured in financial terms- Far from it. Success is making progress towards what matters to you.

It’s time to break the cycle of resistance and fly in the face of the fear of success. Yes you CAN!
