My ex-partner and I had this home built in 2003. This is the first house that I have been involved in from the ground up and it is a great source of pride having been published twice – in Dream House Magazine and in the Robb Report, Vacation Homes edition. It also won a construction award. We truly did build our dream home – it is unique, spiritual and beautiful. In addition to the obvious green roof, we used locally sourced raw materials from British Columbia to build the home and a geothermal heating and cooling system. Notice the collection of African artifacts; a nod to my birthplace. The home sits on 16 lakefront acres and preserving the natural and fragile grasslands has been a labour of love for me.
