Why you should Never Give Up!

Hello everyone, I’m Jacquie Somerville, Founder of the Be Your Own Soul Mate movement. Welcome to this week’s broadcast of Jacquie Straight Up, the place to be if you want to live a kick-ass life of love, wealth, happiness and freedom.

I’m coming to you from my new home in Santa Monica, Ca. and it is very much a work in progress! I’m having some fun decorating and ordering new furniture. It’s really a thrilling process for me. I wanted to shoot this quick video because I was just listening to an interview that Elon musk, the founder of Tesla did on 60 minutes and it’s such an amazing message that I felt compelled to share with you.

In the interview, Elon was asked why after the Space X launch had failed 3 times to reach orbit. And the interviewer said to him “So why wouldn’t you give up at that point?” And to that Elon replied, “I will never give up”. He said, “I would have to be dead, or totally incapacitated to give up. And it just struck a cord with me and I thought wow I need to share this with everybody on Jacquie Straight Up this morning! Because whatever it is you’re going for, yes you’re going to get disappointed, yes you’re going to have what they call “failures”. But don’t ever give up, unless you’re dead or totally incapacitated. Because if you don’t give up, you will eventually get there. You will. And that’s why Elon Musk is such a great leader in the world and that’s why he’s a billionaire, that’s why hes so innovative, that’s why hes considered to be one of the greats of our time! And it’s because that’s his attitude. He never gave up. And believe me, he has had many other failures leading up to his massive success. And he will continue to, but he never gives up.

So that’s the message I wanted to give you today, don’t give up. Whatever it is you’re perusing, don’t give up. It will happen, it really will! Thanks so much for watching if you’ve liked the video please click the like button and please share it with others that would be awesome. And I look forward to seeing you on the next Episode of Jacquie Straight Up. And as you know I love hearing from you so please leave me a comment below and perhaps let me know when you have been absolutely relentless and not given up and it’s worked out for you. Thanks for watching, see you next time- Bye!

My business has grown so much since I started working with you. My business has changed and I have changed. I’ve always had that “never give up” attitude, but, you’ve helped me take proper ACTION…..and I so appreciate your support on my “shaky” days.

Congratulations on your move and new home! You deserve everything and more! 🙂 xo

Hi Jacquie and anyone else reading this. The one area in my life I have never given up on is my desire (tradition 3 for those of you who might know what I mean) to recover from my lifelong behavioural addiction> I say lifelong because it got me when I was a child and years before I knew what was wrong, though I instinctively knew something was wrong. To give up on this I would have had to be dead or incapacitated, though the addiction often left me feeling dead inside and incapacitated to take forward my dreams, which I am now doing through Jacquie’s Passion to Profit programme.

My only question is: are there things in life that we’re meant to give up on, such as trying to change someone.

    Love, Robert from the UK

Hi Rob – Thanks for your comment and I am immensely proud of you too! To your question: Here’s the distinction: Goals and dreams can only be about YOU. We can’t give up on something that was not ours to control/create/manifest in the first place. When it comes to other people, the key is to “let go” not give up. If the dream is to manifest a loving relationship, the dream must not be abandoned but letting go of our notion of exactly who that person ought to be is the key. The loving relationship is the goal. The person who fulfills that role, is up to the Universe. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have more questions! XO

Thanks Jacquie, for replying to my comment of yesterday, which I have found to be very helpful in pointing out the distinction you have made. This is real wisdom, wisdom that I can apply to all areas of my life as making the distinction between what belongs to me and what doesn’t needs to be taken into all other areas. Rob.

Jacquie, I like what you said to Robert. Great advice!
As you were talking, I remembered what Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
