FOOD: YOUR SECRET (AND OFTEN OVERLOOKED) WEAPON FOR SUCCESS

Confession time: during my 20’s, I was a round, self-conscious girl who was a full 30 pounds heavier than I am now.

My self confidence was challenged, and I lived my life clammed up in extra-comfy sweatpants and over-sized T-shirts.

I was afraid of shining my light.

It’s really true. In fact, in today’s Jacquie Straight Up, I share a photo of my overweight self from the 80’s.

Make no mistake: even at this point in my career, showing you this photo is a big step for me. This is the first time that I have ever publicly shared an image from that stage in my life, and it’s not easy. But because today’s video topic is so important, I felt it warranted a little photo-evidence from my past.

What I’m talking about is transforming your life with the totally doable basics — the 6 “S’s” of Fabulous. And today’s “S” is SUSTENANCE — food!

Look, I’m no angel when it comes to food and alcohol — I friggin’ love the stuff.

But believe me, what we put into our bodies affects EVERYTHING. My photo from the 80’s is living proof that I’ve struggled for years with this issue…and I’ve finally figured it out. Click above to see.

I dig a lot deeper into what I’ve learned about all things related to SUSTENANCE in today’s video, but here are three quick tips to get you on the road to fabulous:

1. Stock your fridge with plenty of healthy convenience foods so that it’s easy to grab the healthy options. Make it easy to be healthy.

2. Don’t deprive yourself of those indulgences that are really important to you. Deprivation only causes rebellion and life is meant to be enjoyed. I eat chocolate and drink wine almost every day of my life and I am healthier now than I’ve ever been.

3. Partake in plenty non-caloric delights like massages, sunshine, hugs, animals, walks in nature, bubble baths, orgasms, friends, and just doing what you love to do!

And don’t get me wrong: being fabulous isn’t about keeping up with the Jones’s. It’s about having self respect, energy, and confidence. And above all, it means unleashing your full potential so you can live a happy and fulfilled life!

Remember, we can either amplify our potential by fueling our bodies with the right stuff, or we can dull our potential and never reach our destiny by choosing to eat the wrong foods.

Today, I encourage you to see your body as a precious gift. Don’t waste a moment of your life using food — or any other substance for that matter — to dampen your potential. Use food instead to FUEL your destiny.

You deserve to feel good and to live your purpose, and you have the power through your daily choices to do just that!
