Do you accept this challenge?

Is it time to issue yourself a challenge? (And I mean a BIG one!)

This week’s video is inspired by a truly incredible man with a fantastic name: Deri ap John Llewellyn Davies. He’s a Welshman, a successful business man, dedicated family man, and adventurer extraordinaire. He’s also the author of the hugely inspiring book, Life’s Great Adventure.

The book blew me away! In it, Deri describes how he faced some of the greatest adventure challenges on earth, including scaling the earth’s highest peaks and completing the world’s toughest foot race, the legendary Marathon Des Sables: six back-to-back marathons across the Sahara desert. Yikes!

And here’s another cool part: Deri not only brings you into his world of epic adventure, but also inspires you to reconnect and rediscover your OWN adventure. It is spell-binding, riveting, and inspiring, and caused me to stop and think, “If Deri can do all this stuff, can’t I push myself just a little more?” Then it compelled me to find out why issuing ourselves a huge challenge every once in a while is a really, really good thing.

A big challenge? A really good thing? You’d better believe it. (Watch the above video to find out more.)

As I explain in today’s Jacquie Straight Up, big challenges push us almost to our limits. And when we are pushed almost to the brink — and survive — our confidence and our trust in ourselves increases exponentially. The most crucial element of success is belief in ourselves, right? And when our confidence grows, so does our belief.

Taking on a huge challenge causes us to go DEEP and draw on the very best of ourselves, and discover things about ourselves we never knew before. We develop strength and resilience. And even if we don’t always succeed, these discoveries make it all worthwhile.

Remember, when we trust in our own ability to face adversity, we are more prone to step out of our comfort zone and be wildly successful. And this truly is the key for unlocking a kick-ass life of love, wealth, adventure, and freedom.

So today, I’m revealing my big challenge: I’m going to run a half marathon! Yup. A half marathon. All 13 miles of it. Who’s with me? Are you up for it?

Or maybe you have a challenge of your own design? One that you know you need to put out there, to push yourself?

Either way, let me know in the comments section below the video what BIG challenge you are up for. And then together, let’s blow ourselves away with our own determination, tenacity, courage, and guts.
